Meet Recap

The Colonels broke into the win column on Monday night against a tough Warren Central team. The boys got their first match win of the season outlasting the Dragons by 3 pins in the to pin category. This is the first match win for the Colonels who have been close this season but unable to get over the hump.

The Colonels were paced in the first head to head match by TJ Moulder with a 163 and Tyler Reed with a 158. The boys lost the first head to head by 14 pins and won the second head to head game by a single pin. This set up the all important Baker’s matches. In the second head to head game the Colonels were paced by Justin Sturgeon with a 179 on a huge 10th frame, with three straight strikes.

In the Baker’s matches the boys were down a total of 13 pins going into the first match. The They narrowed the gap to seven pins. Going into the second Baker’s the team once again relied heavily on Sturgeon as the anchor. Sturgeon closed out the game and the match with a strong tenth frame to squeeze out the three pin win. The boys are led this year by Sturgeon with a 168 average.

The Colonels are in action again on Thursday night against the defending regional champs Barren County at Ralphie’s Fun Center at 4:30pm.
