Colonels Edged out of Regional Tennis Tournament

The Caverna Boys Tennis Team was dropped from Regional competition 3-1 by
the Campbellsville Squad. Under a new format the KHSAA Tennis is trying
this season Team play in the regionals is a five point match with all five
matches starting at approximately the same time with the first team to
achieve 3 courts{points} is the winner with all other matches waived.
Tonight Campbellsville did just that by winning 3 courts to Caverna’s 1.
Justin Sturgeon racked up the lone Colonel win with a 6-1,6-2 win over the
Eagles’ Devan Keith. Sam Bowman and Sam Kessler, two of this Region’s
elite players drew the crowd and the raves at the #1 spot with our Sam
winning 6-2,3-2 when action was suspended with the third win for
Campbellsville.

Othe action had Zack Reed, at the #2 Singles losing to Jackson Hunt
1-6,1-6, Tyler Reed and Isahia Boles dropping a 0-6,1-6 decision to Zack
Settle and Jason Boles and Dustin Carter and Cole McMahon fell 0-6,0-6 to
Cody Davis and Patrick Davis to round out the scoring. Campbellsville will
now advance to Face Nelson County in the next round.

The next outing for the Colonels will be a home tilt against Marion County
Girls this Thursday and a co-ed match against Fort Knox this Friday.
